Description: We all know that collaboration is key to getting things done in today’s fast-paced workplace. But what happens when your UX team runs into difficulties with other areas of the project? In this talk we will share our experiences with collaboration beyond UX borders. First we will examine the difficulties of innovation in government work and how a well established relationship with the client can overcome them. Then we will explore an example of this innovation by detailing the iterative prototyping collaboration between the UX team and back-end developers that resulted in an award winning website for our Federal client.

Biography:

James Frank is an Interactive Developer at Sapient Government Services. With five years of experience in the non-profit, corporate, and government sectors, he particularly enjoys working at the intersection of different disciplines of work. Whether that involves project management for a front-end project or load testing newly designed functionality, he is always interested in learning new skills.

Ben Hofer is an Interactive Designer/Developer at Sapient Government Services who is committed to working toward integral beauty in design, user experience and code. A self-taught developer with a background in fine arts and graphic design, Ben is always seeking to improve his skills and creativity through the intersection between code and design.

Mark Laurent, a senior technologist consultant at Sapient Government Services, has gained over five years of experience working with government clients gathering requirements, designing solutions and incorporating them into an enterprise solution leveraging Business Process Management best practices. Mark is well versed with web-application architecture, database solutions, and server configuration and administration.
