Description: If you look for advice on forms, you’ll often find that it only relates to simple examples. But unfortunately government is rarely simple, and the forms that create transactions with government often pose severe challenges for the citizen. Come to this presentation for tips on improving complex, multi-page forms. Tips will include ideas on how to make government forms look less intimidating, what to do about complex validations, and managing varied stakeholders.

Biography: Caroline Jarrett is best known for her work on the usability of forms, and particularly relishes the challenges posed by Government forms. She is co-author of “Forms that work: Designing web forms for usability” and 'User Interface Design and Evaluation' and is working on “Surveys that work” (to be published by Rosenfeld Media in 2014)As she’s been researching the ‘Surveys’ book, she’s become convinced that surveys are an underused method in user experience – possibly because so many of us encounter surveys that could be a lot better.
